Oceania Baths’ Sakura bathtub won the award for excellence in the “new products – plumbing fixtures and valves” category at the Montreal International Design Show (SIDIM), the biggest design event in North America. The 18th edition of this annual rendezvous, held in Montreal from May 25 to 27, attracted over 300 exhibitors and 21,000 visitors, architects, designers, building managers, corporate buyers, retailers, distributors, and media representatives from Canada, the United States, Europe, and elsewhere. This prestigious prize confirms Oceania Baths’ position as a leading contemporary designer and manufacturer of luxurious yet practical bathtubs.
Distributed throughout North America, Sakura’s adapted shower-bathtub was designed for people who expect to live independently in the comfort of their own homes without sacrificing their safety. The standard-sized Sakura (60 x 30 x 12 inches) is built for alcove installation and comes with a safe and easy 12” step-over access. “Sakura is the ultimate in functionality. Its 22” acrylic backsplash is reinforced for the installation of grip bars and the fold down seat can be folded away for showering in total comfort. And the smooth, easy-care joint-free surface can be cleaned with the simple wipe of a cloth. Sakura is an excellent alternative to much more expensive—and less attractive—products. It’s also the only model in its category to feature the AeroMassage™ and Super AeroMassage™ therapeutic systems,” explains Marc Dussault, President of Oceania Baths.
Recognized for imaginative and innovative technology combining elegance, safety, and well-being, Oceania Baths launches from six to ten new high-end products each year to match its customers’ tastes and needs. In addition to Sakura, the company has introduced several other models since January, 2006, including the Fusion Series, the first freestanding, rectangular “island” bathtub available with personalized embedded corners. Oceania Baths invests heavily in research and development to ensure that its products continue to meet high industry standards. In fact, Oceania redefined standards for cleanliness with its Extreme Hygiene™ system, the unique patented procedure that cleans and sanitizes the air channels using a powerful steam jet that effectively destroys bacteria. Oceania’s exclusive Self-Draining/Drying™ cycle is also built into every AeroMassage™ and Super AeroMassage™ therapeutic system.
Founded in 1995, Oceania Baths designs, manufactures, and distributes deluxe acrylic baths and showers. Its product lines, which include a wealth of design, shape, and format options, along with the quality of its patented systems, have made Oceania the leader in its field. The company markets its products primarily in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and the U.S. It has over a hundred employees working at facilities in Thetford Mines and Trois-Pistoles, Quebec.
